The Eisteddfod Mission

The preparations are falling into place for the evangelistic campaign at the Rhondda Cynon Taf Eisteddfod. Every Eisteddfod is different, and we look forward to seeing what opportunities will arise to share the Gospel with our fellow country men and women. There will be around six volunteers in the EMW tent every day providing refreshments, handing out tracts, trying to start a conversation with people by using a questionnaire or welcoming people in general. We are grateful to the Christians from the local area and beyond who have dedicated themselves to the work.

The theme of this year’s stand is ‘Belonging/Perthyn’, with the hope that that will be an opening to chat about ‘Where do you belong?’ ‘Who do you belong to?’ ‘What does belonging mean to you?’ ‘Do you have a relationship with God? and so forth. We have collected testimonies from a number of Christians who have a local connection in order to create a simple exhibition in the stand, and a large map of Wales will be available for people to identify where they belong. There will also be a tract and questionnaire on the theme.

  • Prayer points:
    • Thank the Lord for the freedom and opportunity to share the Gospel, and thank him for the volunteers who are part of the work
    • Pray earnestly for doors of opportunity to open to speak graciously of the Lord Jesus Christ, and that we may find wisdom and guidance in our words
    • Pray that Christians who enter the stall will be encouraged
    • Pray for practical safety day by day
    • Pray that God will protect us from attacks
    • Pray for fruit to the glory of our Savior

Thank you

Gwydion Lewis (team leader)
