2019 Speakers

Ian Parry

Ian was born in Cardiff in 1969. He is married to Liz and they have four children. Since April 2018 Ian has been the pastor of Grangetown Baptist Church in Cardiff. In the past he has pastored Mount Elim Evangelical Church in Pontardawe (1995-2003) and The Bay Church in Cardiff (2003-2016). He was also, for a short while, Director of the European Mission Fellowship.

Ian is leading the morning Bible Readings from Tuesday to Friday.

Conrad Mbewe

Conrad has been the pastor of the Kabwata Baptist Church in Lusaka, Zambia, for the last 31 years. He has a PhD in Missions and is currently involved in the establishment of the African Christian University. His latest book is entitled “Pastoral Preaching – Building a People for God.”

Conrad is preaching on Sunday morning and evening and Monday evening.

Vaughan Roberts

Vaughan studied law at Cambridge University before a brief spell in South Africa where he was involved in student ministry. He subsequently trained for Anglican ministry at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford, and since 1991 he has been on the staff of St Ebbe’s Church, Oxford, where he is now Rector. Vaughan is Chair of Trustees of The Proclamation Trust. Vaughan has written a number of books and in his spare time, he enjoys playing tennis and golf.

Vaughan is preaching on Tuesday evening.

John Benton

John was converted at school and awarded a doctorate in theoretical chemistry as a student. He was a pastor in Guildford for 36 years and edited Evangelicals Now from 1992 until this year. Presently he is Director of Pastoral Support for the Pastors’ Academy at London Seminary. He is married to Ann and together they often speak on marriage and parenting. His latest book, titled “Resilient” addresses perseverance in ministry.

John is preaching on Wednesday evening.

Lindsay Brown

Lindsay Brown is a native of Merthyr Tydfil. He has been involved in evangelical student ministry for 40 years with UCCF and IFES. He is married to Ann, an Aberystwyth graduate, and they have a son Owen, who has also been involved in student ministry in Wales. He and Ann are members of Highfields Church in Cardiff.

Lindsay is preaching on Thursday evening.

Andy Pitt

Andy has been pastor of Park Baptist Church, Merthyr Tydfil since 2002. He is married to Viv and they have 3 children and 4 grandchildren. Originally from Stroud, Gloucestershire, Andy has been working in Wales for the past 26 years. Andy enjoys watching sport and is an avid Liverpool fan.

Andy is preaching on Friday evening.
