The Aber19 Guide

    • What do I need to know before coming to Aber 2019?

The postcode to reach the accommodation using Sat Nav is SY23 3FH.

For those travelling to Aberystwyth by train, there will be a free shuttle service running from the station to reception at the Sgubor from 1.15pm until 5.30pm on Saturday 10th August. Please look out for our stewards who will be waiting in the station forecourt as your train arrives (This service will also be available at the end of the conference).

Keys can be collected from Reception at the Sgubor, Fferm Penglais, Aberystwyth, SY23 3FH.  Reception is open from 2pm until 6pm on Saturday 10 August, and 8.30am – 6pm Monday to Friday.  If you are planning to arrive outside these times then please pick up your key from the Main Reception, located at the main entrance to the University.

Sports passes, which enables delegates to use the Sports Centre on campus for a discounted rate, are also available from the Sgubor reception upon arrival.

To park on campus you will need a permit. These are available upon arrival and from the Welcome Desk during the rest of the week. Please note they are not available before 10 August.

Please remember to bring your own food, tea towels, washing up liquid and toilet rolls as all the University accommodation is self-catered.

Aberystwyth town has a host of supermarkets, but the nearest to the campus is CK Foodstores (located across the road).

The University has some great places to eat. The main restaurant is TaMed Da which is open throughout the conference. There are also 3 cafés located at the Art Centre.

If you have children in your group attending one of the children’s groups, you must complete a registration form. Please visit www.emw.org.uk/childrensgroups.

First time at the Conference?  Please feel free join us in the Conservatory of TaMed Da for our welcome meeting on Sunday at 9.30am before the service.

For those staying offsite there is a free minibus to the campus operating every morning (9.45 am Tues-Fri) and every evening (6.15 Mon-Fri), picking up outside the Marine Hotel on the promenade. It returns shortly after the close of the service. The service also runs for the Sunday services at 9.45am and 5.45pm. Priority will be given to those who find walking difficult.
