We have created a resource for young people in Wales called Lumina
Lumina means lights. The theme of light and darkness appears over and over in the Bible. Darkness is often used to represent evil, wickedness and sin. The Bible tells us that: “This light sines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” John 1:5. The light has defeated the darkness! And Jesus is that light! “When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, ‘I am the light of the world, whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12. Jesus came into the dark world and defeated the darkness. He wants his people to be a light in the world. “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16.
Jesus is the light that came into the darkness. Now, we are to be lights, pointing others to Jesus. We pray that this resource will encourage our young people to do just that.
Lumina consists of reliable Biblical content shared through videos, podcasts and articles. We want the resource to encourage young people to explore questions about God, get to grips with the Bible and grow in their faith.
Get involved!
There are many ways you can get involved with the app:
We are dependent on God in every way. Without Him we can do nothing, yet we can do all things through Him who strengthens us. Prayer is therefore a vital part of the work of the EMW. Pray for the EMW’s app, Lumina. Pray for young people in Wales Pray for the individual young people…
Thank you for your prayerful support! If you would like to support the EMW’s youth resources financially, visit the donate page here. When filling in forms please mention that you would like your financial support to go specifically to the EMW’s youth resources.
Why do we celebrate Easter? It’s fun to eat chocolate for breakfast and have some time off school… but why does Easter exist? What do we celebrate at Easter time? This reading plan looks at the history of Easter in the Bible, helping you to consider what your response is to what Jesus Christ has…
