We are creating an app for young people in Wales called Lumina.

Lumina means lights. The theme of light and darkness appears over and over in the Bible. Darkness is often used to represent evil, wickedness and sin. The Bible tells us that: “This light sines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” John 1:5. The light has defeated the darkness! And Jesus is that light! “When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, ‘I am the light of the world, whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12. Jesus came into the dark world and defeated the darkness. He wants his people to be a light in the world. “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16.

Jesus is the light that came into the darkness. Now, we are to be lights, pointing others to Jesus. We pray that this resource will encourage our young people to do just that.

Lumina will consist of reliable Biblical content shared through videos, podcasts and articles. We want the app to encourage young people to explore questions about God, get to grips with the Bible and grow in their faith.
