Tuesday 25th August 2020, 1:30pm
Topic: Pandemics and Evangelism: the pitfalls and potentials in navigating COVID-19 with the Gospel
Speaker: Rev. Dr. Roger Abbott (Senior Research Associate in Natural Disasters, The Faraday Institute For Science and Religion)
This Tuesday at 1.30pm at Team Talk we have Rev Dr Roger Abbott coming to speak to us. Roger has been in pastoral ministry for thirty years and in 1989 was closely involved with the Kegworth Air Disaster. Roger did his PhD exploring a practical theology of major incident response and is now a research assistant with the Faraday Institute. This has led him to work in Haiti, the Philippines and New Orleans following natural disasters with earthquakes, hurricanes, cholera and super typhoons. We have known Roger over many years through his attendance at the Bala Ministers Conference and so because of his unique experiences with natural disasters and his warm gospel heartedness, we have asked him to talk to us about the current pandemic that we are all part of. He has chosen to speak to us about, ‘Pandemics and Evangelism: the pitfalls and potentials in navigating COVID-19 with the Gospel’. This is a subject that is surely close to all our hearts in these unusual days. There will be opportunity for questions and discussion, and we will also have time for prayer together.
This event is free of charge, but you will need to register here.
