Most Christians understand that the pastoral calling is demanding — but only those serving in this role truly grasp the weight it carries. While the Apostle Paul spoke openly about times when ministry overwhelmed him, many pastors today struggle in silence. In our independent church contexts, meaningful pastoral support is often limited — or even absent — leaving ministers and their families to navigate the challenges of ministry alone.

This November, we are inviting pastors and their wives — including those recently retired — to gather for two special days of fellowship, reflection, and encouragement: one in North Wales and one in the South. Together, we will consider the realities of pastoring in Wales today, facing these challenges honestly and constructively.

In particular we want to hear from one another about how things really are within the reality of pastoral ministry today. Through listening, sharing, and learning together, we hope to spark a constructive conversation that will benefit those in ministry today
