Monday, 12 August – The English Conference at Aberystwyth
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Hebrews 4:12
Today, the conference starts in fullness, with Paul Williams preaching during our evening service. Please pray for the conference, especially those who will be opening the Scriptures to us. David Meredith is the main speaker. May the Lord speak with us through His Spirit. You can watch the live-stream on our website.
Tuesday, 13 August – Children’s Clubs at Aber
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:14
Over 150 children have booked onto the conference this week. Please pray for all the club leaders and volunteers, and especially for the children in Tiny Tots, Mini Marvels, Holiday Heroes and JAber. May the Lord save many this week.
Wednesday, 14 August – Pastoral Director
And he himself gave some as apostles and some as prophets and some as evangelists and some as pastors and teachers for the equipping of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for building up the body of Christ Ephesians 4:11
At the conference this evening, Phil Swann will discuss his new role with the EMW as Pastoral Director. Phil will work with pastors to support and help them. Please pray for Phil in this vital work.
Thursday, 15 August – Camp Nine and Welsh Language
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
Today is over the halfway point of the week’s camps (Welsh young and old, and camp 9). Please pray for the campers. Pray that they will be saved and that the Christians will be encouraged and strengthened in their faith to be gospel witnesses back home and at their schools.
Friday, 16 August – The English Conference at Aberystwyth
How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity! It is like precious oil poured on the head, running down on the beard, running down on Aaron’s beard, down upon the collar of his robes. Psalm 133:1
As the Conference draws to an end, please pray that the work that has been done during the week will not be spoiled but that it will be used to strengthen unity between gospel Christians throughout Wales. Pray that the conference will bring a lasting blessing to those who attended.
Saturday, 17 August – Camp Seven, Eight and Ten
But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8
A busy day! Three camps finish and three start. Please pray for the leadership of all our camps. Camp seven takes place at Bala, with Josh Slade and Claire Williams leading, and John Funnell as chaplain. Camp eight is in Pentrenant, with Paul Watkins and Jess Walters leading, and Andy Pitt as chaplain speaking on the different conversions within the Bible. Camp ten is outdoors with Ben and Catherine Christofides leading, and Tom Baker speaking on the theme of the Tabernacle and the Great High Priest.
Sunday, 18 August – Bryn y Groes and Staff
“I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:13
Please pray today for the staff at our Conference Centre. Four camps have come and gone, and there remains one more and a Theological Training Course. May God give them strength!
