EMW Daily Devotion – 18 July 2020

17 July 2020 | by Steffan Job | John 6

Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life, and we have believed, and have come to know, that you are the Holy One of God.”

John 6:68-69

I can turn to Jesus as he will always be there for me.

I can turn to Jesus because he is sympathetic and understanding.

I can turn to Jesus because he is the Lord who controls everything.

I can turn to Jesus because he has the words of eternal life.

I can turn to Jesus because he is certain in an uncertain world.

I can turn to Jesus as he is in heaven preparing a place for me.

I can turn to Jesus as he maintains the cosmos.

But most of all I can turn to Jesus because he loves me … ‘He stretched his pure white hand abroad, a crown of thorns he wore, so that (I) the poorest sinner might, be cleansed for evermore.’

At times there is nothing else we can do but run to his arms, bury our head in his bosom and embrace him knowing that we are safe, that we are home and that we are loved beyond understanding.

His arms are there for you this morning – to whom else will we go?
