Speakers

The speakers for the conference this year will be:

Stuart Olyott

Minister, author and conference speaker. He became pastor of Belvidere Road Church in Liverpool after training at London Bible College during the periods 1967 to 1982 and 1991 to 1999. The intervening years were spent preaching the gospel in French in Lausanne, Switzerland, and pioneering new churches in both France and Switzerland. Based in Deeside, he spends much of his time travelling, visiting, encouraging and equipping ministers around the world.

Phil Swann

Phil is the pastor of Llanelli Free Church. He has pastored churches in both England and Wales. He teaches pastoral theology on the Theological Training Course. He is married to Karyn and has one son.

Andrew Davies

Andrew has held pastorates in New Zealand, Australia, England and Wales. He has taught Church History and Homiletics at London Theological Seminary, the Theological Training Course of the EMW, and WEST.  He is married to Pam and has four children and ten grandchildren.

Bill Dyer

Bill has vast experience in Christian work having pastored Pontefract Evangelical church for forty years. He is currently Training Officer for the Evangelical Fellowship of Congregational Churches.

John Legg

After ministering for over forty years in North Yorkshire and Shrewsbury, John Legg has retired to Cardiff, South Wales, where he spends his time preaching and writing. He and his wife Beryl have four children and eleven grandchildren. Published books include Dear Tom; When we don’t understand; Any objections; The church that Christ built; and the Welwyn commentary on Matthew (The King and his kingdom)

Jonathan Stephen

Following a few years teaching Religious Education in a large and lively inner-London comprehensive school, Jonathan completed nearly 28 years in pastoral ministry, first at Amyand Park Chapel in Twickenham and then at Carey Baptist Church in Reading. His service to the wider Church has steadily grown through his preaching ministry and involvement in many projects and Christian agencies. Past President of the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches (1998-2001) and Director of Affinity (2003-2009), Jonathan took up the reins as Principal of WEST in September 2006. Jonathan is married to Sheila and they have one son, Jeremy, who is a lawyer in London.

Phil Eveson

After serving churches in South Wales, Philip was minister of Kensit Evangelical Church, Finchley for 25 years and has been involved with the church in pioneering work in Ghana. Now retired he continues to teach at LTS and served as Principal from 1997 to 2008. His preaching and lecturing have taken him to every continent. He is married to Jennifer and they have one married daughter and four grandchildren. His hobbies include playing the piano and pipe organ.
