Book reviews Jul/Aug 2011 — 17 August 2011
Edgar Andrews’ recent book demonstrates the intellectual poverty of the new atheism. Its 300 pages cover in depth the matters raised in his article and is aimed evangelistically at the uncommitted person-in-the-street who has been exposed to evolutionary atheism via the mass media. Although dealing with deep scientific and philosophical issues it is designed to be read and enjoyed by the non-expert.
Above all it presents a biblical worldview over against the atheistic worldview and invites the reader to judge which best accounts for human experience. It should both strengthen the believer’s own faith and provide an evangelistic resource with which to engage friends and neighbours.
