Book reviews Jul/Aug 2011 — 10 August 2011
1,800 copies of this book were sold in the first month! The author, a high-flying cardiothoracic surgeon in New York and the UK, preached a series of sermons on Job when he was recovering from chemotherapy for leukaemia. Andrew, a young family man, approved the final version of the book just before he died in July 2010. The author describes his personal journey through cancer and cancer treatment, so it is autobiographical, medical but also biblical as he applies teaching from the book of Job to his situation. It is certainly a book that would help pastoral visitors, family and friends of cancer sufferers, and believers who are enduring cancer treatment.
