Book reviews Mar/Apr 2011 — 25 April 2011
This book is aimed at the secular market and is for someone recently bereaved. It is written by a bereaved man, his son, a GP and a pastor. The book covers practical details such as what has to be done after death, arranging a funeral and dealing with finances and clearing the house. It covers the emotional aspects of grief and what help is available. The chapter on spiritual issues is general but does briefly cover the Christian perspective. The chapter on the later years includes advice on coping with anniversaries and the sensitive subject of new relationships. Buy three copies of this book! Give one to your pastor, one to your local library and keep one yourself – it is a valuable resource.
