This is another hardback book in Christian Focus’ Little Hands series for children, written by a prolific author. This book could be used in family prayer times, in small Sunday school classes, or given to children in lower junior age groups to read for themselves.
This book aims to teach children how to pray (Adoration, Thanksgiving, Confession, Supplication) and about prayer, using Bible stories and passages, fifty-two in all. The book is laid out attractively with text on one side of the page and a picture on the other. The text finishes with a Bible verse to focus on, a question related to the bible story and a ‘spot this’ relating to the picture. There is always a point of application in a text box. I would say that the application is aimed at believing children, or perhaps Christian families.
My only quibble about this book, and it seems trivial, are some of the illustrations. Sometimes they seem dated and lack a contemporary feel, especially when depicting people today.
